about

O Vento is a song in Portuguese about a street boy growing up as an orphan in a big city.
Méditerranée pays tribute to all those who have drowned in the Mediterranean Sea whilst trying to cross over onto Europe's shores.
Tears of Gaza is a study of the conflict in Palestine, paying homage to all the children growing up in conflict zones (whatever 'side' they may be caught in).

lyrics

1)O vento que canta na beira mar
Fala da uma storia bem triste;
De um rapaz que vive sim amar
E que nao sabe que nao existe...

The wind that sings by the sea tells of a sad story...that of a young boy who lives without loving, and who does not know he exists....

Nasceu chorando de uma mulher
Dos olhos dorados, do sorriso branco;
Pobre do dineiro mas alegra de ver
Essos elhos descubriendo ao mundo...

He was born crying from a woman of golden eyes and shining smile, so very poor but so very happy to see those eyes discovering the world...

CHORUS

2)Mas o vento canta, ay o vento leva
Toas as penas, as alegrias
O vento suspira, o vento leva
Pelo ar....as esperancas perdidas...

But the wind sings, the wind takes away all sadness and all happiness; the wind sighs, the wind takes away far into the air...all the lost hopes...

Um dia a mai deixou nos brazos do mar
O tal vez nos brazos do ceu;
Ele nao sabe nao pode bem lembrar
Essa storia da seu mai tao escura...

One day his mother vanished into the arms of the sea, or perhaps into the arms of the sky; he cannot tell, cannot remember the dark story of his mother...

Cresceu sozinho na grande cidade
A noite abrazado das luces centelhas
Al amahecer da pequena idade
Pra entender essas ausencias,
Pra entender essas indiferencias...

He grew up alone in the big city, hugged at night by the flickering lights; and every time the sun rose, he was too small to understand all the absence and indifference around him...

CHORUS

3)O tempo pasou aprendiu a ser
Um alma da pedra um ser de ar
Uma vida sim confianza da pouco plazer
Ele nao tem a quem amar
Ele nao tem amor pra dar

Time passed and he learned to be a soul of stone, a being of wind; his life is without trust and knows little pleasure: he has no one to love, he has no love to give...

Mas a noite seu alma torna-se areia
Levada pras ondas de sonhos dorados
Das musicas duma mai sempre lembrada
Nos seus olhos um sorrisa eterna...

But at night, his soul turns to sand...washed away by waves of golden dreams upon the songs of a mother he has never forgotten...and in her eyes lives an eternal smile...
