Happy African inspired music to dance to! Matoke play township jazz, Mbaqanga, Jit and reggae. Formed in 2006, Matoke quickly established themselves in their hometown of Cambridge with a residency at acclaimed venue The Elm Tree. Since then the band have supported Kando Bongo man, opened Cambridge's Heart of the World festival and played at Brick Lane's 93 Feet East. Matoke are proud to be included in Tracks for Amnesty, and hope you enjoy this arrangement of "Yaze Yangala" a song by the Elite Swingsters in the `Marabi' style. A style originating in South Africa to entice people into the Shebeens!
